T.J. Brown (14-7) vs. Danny Chavez (10-3)ODDS: Brown (-170), Chavez (+150)
Arkansas’ Brown did not quite knock down the door to the UFC with his win on Dana White’s Contender Series, but he figured to provide some exciting fights after the promotion decided to pick him up. He is 1-for-1 thus far, as his February debut against Jordan Griffin resulted in an entertaining back-and-forth scrap, even if it ended with Brown suffering a second-round submission loss. Brown looks to rebound against an organizational newcomer in Chavez, who is fresh off a knockout win about a month ago. There is not much out there on Chavez, but he does have an active kicking game. Brown has been sparked out before, so a Chavez knockout certainly is not out of the realm of possibility, However, Chavez’s reliance on kicks should set up nicely for Brown to get his aggressive grappling game going. The pick is Brown via second-round submission.
