Brian Stann’s Hire Heroes USA Partners with Call of Duty Endowment to Benefit US Veterans

Brian Stann is not asking for money, but he could use a helping hand.

Besides being a UFC middleweight contender, Stann is also the president of Hire Heroes USA, a non-profit organization created to help military veterans find work after they return from service. For the third consecutive year, Hire Heroes has partnered with the Call of Duty Endowment for a Memorial Day campaign to raise awareness around the issue of veteran unemployment.

From May 24 to June 1, the Call of Duty Endowment will donate $1 for each image “share” the campaign receives on social networking site Facebook. Last year, the partnership raised $36,000, which Stann’s non-profit used to provide veterans and their spouses with transition assistance, job search assistance and job placement services. In 2012, the organization’s hope is to raise even more money toward helping vets find careers.

“This is a quick and easy way for the public to help support our nation's heroes this Memorial Day,” said Col. Alan Baldwin (USMC-Ret), Call of Duty Endowment advisory council member, in an official press release. “Our youngest military veterans face a disproportionately higher rate of unemployment, and Hire Heroes USA has shown proven results in meeting its mission to reduce the staggering employment realities facing those in the armed forces returning to civilian life. We hope to beat last year's numbers and reach at least 50,000 image shares on Facebook.”

Those wishing to contribute to the cause may do so by clicking the “share” button under one of images promoting the “Honor Our Vets” message at www.Facebook.com/CallOfDutyEndowment.
