‘Star Wars’ Creator’s Daughter, Former SRC Champ Slated for Deep 55

Lucas, daughter of “Star Wars” creator George Lucas, will make
her Japanese mixed martial arts debut at Deep “55
Impact” on Aug. 26, the promotion announced Friday.
Also appearing in action that evening will be former Sengoku Raiden Championship lightweight titleholder Mizuto Hirota (Pictured; file photo), who will make his long-awaited return to action after spending a year and a half on shelf courtesy of Dream lightweight champion Shinya Aoki, who broke Hirota’s arm with the hammerlock at K-1 Dynamite in December 2009.
Opponents have not yet been named for Lucas or Hirota.
With only two professional fights to her credit, Lucas has tasted both victory and defeat in her young MMA career. Known as “Powerhouse,” Lucas was knocked out in the third round of her 2008 pro debut but rebounded the following year with a unanimous decision victory to even her record. Currently training at Gilbert Melendez's Skrap Pack in San Francisco, Lucas has not competed since earning her first win in November 2009.
In addition to his arm, Hirota also had a two-fight winning streak snapped at the hands of Aoki. Prior to his conflict with “Tobikan Judan,” Hirota had never been finished, winning the SRC lightweight strap at Sengoku 9. A six-year veteran of the sport, the 30-year-old holds eight of his 12 career wins by knockout.
