(PRESS RELEASE) -- (Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA): It was revealed today that the recently announced ROAD TO GLORY USA fight series, which is intended to discover America’s next great stand-up fighting superstars, will make a stop in Milwaukee in the spring. Coordinating the event will be Duke Roufus, who runs Roufusport, one of the top fight gyms in North America. The date and tournament field for the event will be announced in the coming weeks.

ROAD TO GLORY USA, which is owned and operated by Glory Sports International (GSI), is set to kick off with an eight-man light heavyweight (209 pounds) tournament at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa on February 1st. “I’m honored to have the opportunity to help showcase the sport of kickboxing, which I love very much,” stated Roufus. “I’m not leaving MMA, but I am so appreciative of this honor being given to me. There’s no better place than Milwaukee for this to happen…there are strong kickboxing roots here.”

Duke Roufus retired from kickboxing in 2005, having won four world titles and compiling an impressive 36-8-1 record with 26 KO’s during his legendary career. Roufus has trained 19 national amateur kickboxing champions, and two North American amateur champs, as well as an amateur Muay Thai champion that won his title in Bangkok, Thailand. Duke also has trained two world champions in Muay Thai, and a K-1 tournament champion. In addition, he is the head coach for some of the top MMA fighters in the world, including former WEC World Champion Anthony Pettis, Alan Belcher, Erik Koch, Chico Camus, and Pascal Krauss, in addition to Olympic wrestler and Bellator Fighting Championship Welterweight World Champion Ben Askren.

The champion of each ROAD TO GLORY USA tournament will be awarded a grand prize of $20,000 as well as a one-year contract to fight in GLORY championship series tournaments that award up to $600,000 in prize money. With television deals spanning every continent, plus a groundbreaking online video streaming system and the world's largest online martial arts library, GLORY is one of the world's most widely-broadcast sporting organizations.

GSI is the world’s premier kickboxing organization, and has offices in Holland, the U.K., Tokyo, Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore. Its personnel includes a diverse mix of award-winning hedge-fund and private equity investors, principals from pioneering sports marketing agency Total Sport Asia, and senior level executives from several leading sports franchises, including WWE, FIFA, Golden Glory, Champions League, and It's Showtime.

Roufus and GSI are committed to reinvigorating kickboxing in North America. More details of their partnership and the resulting fight series will be announced soon. Stay tuned!
