Nascimento-Abiltarov & Werner-Shaparenko Superfights Headline XFCi 7, Nov. 1st on REDE TV!

(PRESS RELEASE) -- São Paulo, BR - Four rising stars will collide in XFC Superfights at XFCi 7 when the show airs from the Sao Paulo Futebol Clube Gymnasium in Sao Paulo, Brazil, on November 1st. Red hot Brazilian prospect Allan Nascimento (12-3 MMA, 2-0 XFC) is set to face Ukrainian Ruslan Abiltarov (6-1 MMA) in the main event, while fellow Ukrainian, 19-year-old rising star Iryna Shaparenko will challenge Brazilian Juliana Werner in a female Strawweight Superfight co-main event at XFC’s second event of Season II. Thirteen fights stack the card, including the women’s Strawweight & Men’s Welterweight tournament quarterfinals. Ticket details will be unveiled soon.

XFC President, Myron Molotky expects a thrilling night in Sao Paulo. “XFC is putting together a world-class fight card for the fans. Allan Nascimento is one of world’s top prospects. He is hungry for the belt, but will find a very tough opponent in his way on November 1st. Abiltarov has impressed our matchmaker Eduardo Duarte and our organization at his fights in Europe. We are also equally as excited to see the Werner-Shaparenko bout and our tournament fights. This is a great card for our XFC fans.”

Both main event fighters are world-level rising stars. The 23-year old Chute Boxe representative, Allan Nascimento will enter the hexagon with gold on his mind. Seeking his third straight victory under the XFC banner, he’ll look to claim an opportunity to fight for the XFC World Championship Flyweight title. Nascimento has submitted two opponents in a row, forcing the tap of Andre Lourenco at XFCi 5 last June and Matias Vasquez two months before that. His opponent, Ukrainian Ruslan “The Predator” Abiltarov, is one year younger. Abiltarov isn’t nicknamed Predator by mistake; he makes his XFC debut carrying a 16-4-1 professional record and an 8-0 amateur record, with only one fight coming by way of a judge’s decision.

As usual at XFC, women will also have their opportunity to shine. On the main card, Santa Catarina born Juliana Werner, a 33-year old knockout veteran, will make her debut in the XFC against Ukrainian Iryna Shaparenko. Shaparenko, 14 years younger than Werner is a submission specialist, finishing five of her seven fights by forcing opponents to tap. Also on the card is a Brazil vs. Colombia duel featuring 21 year old undefeated muay thai specialists Liana Ferreira Pirosin (2-0 MMA) and Marcela Yineris (5-1 MMA) as part of the Women’s International Strawweight tournament. Rounding out the tournament will be Brazilian undefeated prospect Viviane “Sucuri” Pereira (6-0 MMA) vs Fernanda Pinheiro (2-0 MMA), then Ukraine’s Marina Moroz (4-0 MMA) vs Brazil’s Karine Silva (5-0 MMA) & Hungrary’s Dora Perjes (6-0 MMA) vs Brazilian Luana Santos Medeiros (2-0 MMA); all must-watch fights in the 115lbs female grand prix.

The Men’s Season II International Welterweight Tournament will also be showcased live on Rede TV! on November 1st , where the versatile XFC veteran Cairo Rocha (11-4 MMA, 3-1 XFC) will try to reach gold once again. Rocha’s first obstacle will be the formidable Russian, Sergei Bal (15-8-1 MMA). Guyana born Carlston Harris (5-2 MMA) and Paulo Cesar dos Santos (1-1 MMA) are also two young rising fighters named to be part of the grand prix. They are set to fight, respectively, Brazil’s Ariel Jaeger (4-1 MMA) and Venezuela’s Anthony Suarez (7-3 MMA). Opening the 170lb. tournament will be fellow Brazilians Geraldo Coelho (7-1 MMA) vs. Michel Pereira (10-4 MMA).

Before the Rede TV! broadcast goes live, the XFCi 7 night will begin with a highly anticipated Lightweight Tournament Reserves fight between Willian Vitori Cilli (7-3 MMA) vs. Reinaldo Ekson (2-0 MMA). Followed up with a Featherweight Tournament Reserves battle between Romeiro Santana dos Santos (1-0 MMA) and Islan Reis (3-1 MMA). All four fighters vying for their place in the tournament, if/when a fighter from their weight class happens to become injured.

XFCi 7 will feature 13 fights from multiple divisions, as the promotion showcases The Next Generation of MMA fighters. Airing live on Rede TV! November 1st at 11:30pm ET / 0h30BT from the Sao Paulo Futebol Clube in Sao Paulo, Brazil, this second event of Season II is aligned to once again top network ratings as one of the most watched programs on television. Fans outside of Brazil can watch the action on the free live stream via Rede TV! on the XFC website. Fans can also follow the fighters throughout training camp on Facebook, Twitter, & Instagram.
