Mohammad Fakhreddine Wants to Win the Belt for Beirut & Lebanon at Brave CF 41

Lebanese fighter Mohammad Fakhreddine will have a whole country cheering for him on Thursday night.

It's been a couple of tough months for mixed martial arts veteran Mohammad Fakhreddine (13-4-1NC) and his home country. Not only has the COVID-19 outbreak impacted his training camp, but there was also the big explosion that shook the Lebanese capital city on Aug. 4.

Nevertheless, “The Latest” will take on Brave Combat Federation champion Daniel Souza Pereira (9-2) for the middleweight title in the main event of Brave CF 41 on Sept. 17.

Fakhreddine earned his title shot after taking part in Brave's one-night, four-man open weight tournament that went down Brave CF 29 on Nov. 15. There, he smashed Kleber Raimundo Silva at the 3:09 mark of the second stanza in the first fight on the tournament. The final saw the Lebanese fighter locking horns with a much heavier Azamat Murzakanov. The Russian handed Fakhreddine a first-round KO defeat.

While talking with Sherdog, “The Latest” recalled the dramatic moments of the explosion in Beirut and confessed that he wants to win the championship to give a positive message to his country. He also admitted that he is not even considering retirement yet and that he feels younger than ever at 36.
