The rarely utilized Ultimate Fighting Championship women’s featherweight division will get a moment in the sun when Aspen Ladd confronts Norma Dumont in the UFC Fight Night 195 main event on Saturday at the UFC Apex Las Vegas.

Ladd fills in on short notice for the injured Holly Holm, a mere two weeks after a weight-cut failure resulted in the cancellation of her bantamweight tilt opposite Macy Chiasson. The MMA Gold Fight Team export has not competed since she brought down Yana Kunitskaya with punches in the third round of their UFC on ESPN 7 pairing in December 2019. Dumont, meanwhile, enters the cage with the wind of a modest two-fight winning streak in her sails. She last appeared at UFC Fight Night 188, where she eked out a split decision over Felicia Spencer on May 22.

As Ladd and Dumont move ever closer to their pivotal confrontation at 145 pounds, a look at some of the numbers that have accompanied them to this point:

26: Years of age for Ladd, who was born on March 1, 1995 in Folsom, California.

6: Ladd victories by knockout or technical knockout, accounting for 67% of her career total (nine). Her list of victims: Kunitskaya, Tonya Evinger, Lina Lansberg, Jessica Hoy, Kelly McGill-Velasco and Ana Carolina Vidal. Ladd owns one other victory by submission—she tapped Amanda Bobby Brundage with an armbar at Invicta Fighting Championships 14 in September 2015—and two more by decision.

206: Seconds needed for Ladd to put away Evinger with punches at UFC 229 on Oct. 6, 2018. It remains the fastest finish of her 10-fight career.

100,000: Dollars in post-fight bonuses banked by Ladd across her five UFC appearances. She has been awarded “Fight of the Night” once and “Performance of the Night” once.

8: Takedown attempts from Ladd inside the Octagon. She has completed six of them, giving her a success rate of 75%. If Ladd had enough attempts to qualify, she would rank first on the promotion’s all-time list among female fighters. Reigning women’s strawweight champion Valentina Shevchenko currently holds that distinction at 71.8%.

31: Years of age for Dumont, who was born in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, on Oct. 1, 1990.

2: Dumont wins by submission, accounting for 33% of her career total. Her method of choice on both occasions: the rear-naked choke. Dumont sports four other wins by decision.

4: Promotions in which Dumont has competed as a mixed martial artist. She has gone 2-1 in the UFC, 2-0 in Jungle Fight, 1-0 in Shoot Brazil and 1-0 in the Minas Gerais Federation of Mixed Martial Arts.

73: Significant strikes by which Dumont has outlanded the opposition in her two UFC victories. She connected with 162 such strikes against Spencer and Ashlee Evans-Smith while absorbing only 89 of them in return.

1: Loss on the Dumont resume. She was victimized by former Invicta champion Megan Anderson in a first-round knockout at UFC Fight Night 169 on Feb. 29, 2020. Dumont bowed out on the end of a counter right hook 3:31 into Round 1. Advertisement
