By The Numbers: UFC 295 Pre-Fight Edition

Jiri Prochazka will square off with Alex Pereira for the vacant Ultimate Fighting Championship light heavyweight crown in the UFC 295 headliner on Saturday at Madison Square Garden in New York. Meanwhile, Sergei Pavlovich takes on Tom Aspinall for the interim heavyweight title in the five-round co-main event.

As UFC 295 “Prochazka vs. Pereira” approaches, a look at some of the numbers the fighters on the bill bring to the table:

25: Prochazka wins by knockout or technical knockout, accounting for 86% of his career total (29). His list of UFC victims: Dominick Reyes and Volkan Oezdemir.

147: Days spent by Pereira as undisputed UFC middleweight champion. He laid claim to the throne at UFC 281 on Nov. 12, 2022 and relinquished it at UFC 287 on April 8, 2023. It ranks as the fourth-shortest reign in the division’s history, ahead of only Evan Tanner (119 days), Dave Menne (105 days) and Georges St. Pierre (33 days).

73: Significant strikes by which Pavlovich has outlanded his seven UFC opponents. The former Fight Nights Global champion has connected with 145 such strikes while absorbing only 72 of them in return.

250,000: Dollars in post-fight bonuses banked by Aspinall across his seven assignments in the UFC. He has been awarded “Performance of the Night” five times.

42: Rounds started by Mackenzie Dern as a professional mixed martial artist. The 2015 Abu Dhabi Combat Club Submission Fighting World Championship gold medalist has gone the distance on nine different occasions and carries a 6-3 record in those bouts. Dern sets her sights on Jessica Andrade in a three-round women’s strawweight showcase.

996: Total strikes landed by Andrade as a UFC women’s strawweight, placing her eighth on the promotion’s all-time list at 115 pounds. Only Angela Hill (2,112), Joanna Jedrzejczyk (1,863), Karolina Kowalkiewicz (1,521), Tecia Torres (1,335), Carla Esparza (1,298), Randa Markos (1,187) and Weili Zhang (1,064) have connected with more.

10: Countries in which Benoit St. Denis has plied his mixed martial arts trade. He has gone 3-0 in his native France, 2-0 in the United States, 2-0 in Belgium, 1-0 in Switzerland, 1-0 in Slovenia, 1-0 in Sweden, 1-0 in Bahrain, 1-0 in Italy, 0-0 with one no contest in Romania and 0-1 in the United Arab Emirates. St. Denis tackles Matt Frevola in a three-round lightweight attraction.

55: Seconds needed for Frevola to subdue Trent McDade with a guillotine choke at a Real Fighting Championships show on July 22, 2016. More than seven years later, it remains his fastest finish to date.

12: Diego Lopes victories by submission, accounting for 55% of his career total (22). His methods of choice: six armbars, three rear-naked chokes, one heel hook, one triangle choke and one kneebar. Lopes draws Pat Sabatini in a three-round featherweight appetizer.

9: Men other than Sabatini who have captured the Cage Fury Fighting Championships featherweight title. The list: Joey Gambino, Scott Heckman, Levan Makashvili, Alexandre Bezerra, Jeff Lentz, Jared Gordon, James Gonzalez, Blake Bilder and Jose Perez. Only Sabatini and Makashvili have held it twice.

39: Years of age for Mark O. Madsen. The oldest fighter on the card, he was born on Sept. 23, 1984 in Nykobing Falster, Denmark. Madsen meets Jared Gordon in a three-round lightweight prelim.

22: Years of age for Joshua Van. The youngest fighter on the card, he was born in Hakha, Myanmar, on Oct. 10, 2001. Van faces Kevin Borjas in a three-round undercard clash at 125 pounds.

.808: Cumulative winning percentage between the 26 fighters slated to compete at the event. They boast a combined record of 374-88-2. Prochazka has the most wins (29) of anyone on the card, while Andrade has been saddled with the most losses (12).
