By The Numbers: UFC Fight Night 225 Pre-Fight Edition

Max Holloway will once again answer the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s call to arms when the former featherweight titleholder locks horns with Chan Sung Jung in the UFC Fight Night 225 headliner on Saturday at Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore. Meanwhile, Ryan Spann rematches Anthony Smith in the three-round light heavyweight co-main event at 205 pounds.

As UFC Fight Night “Holloway vs. Korean Zombie” approaches, a look at some of the numbers the fighters on the card bring to the table:

14: Consecutive calendar years in which Holloway has fought at least once. In addition to his 1-0 mark in 2023, the Hawaiian has gone 2-0 in 2010, 2-0 in 2011, 3-1 in 2012, 0-2 in 2013, 4-0 in 2014, 4-0 in 2015, 2-0 in 2016, 2-0 in 2017, 1-0 in 2018, 1-2 in 2019, 0-1 in 2020, 2-0 in 2021 and 0-1 in 2022.

18,303: Fans who were on hand to witness Jung’s seven-second knockout of Mark Hominick as part of UFC 140 on Dec. 10, 2011 at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto. Nearly 12 years later, it still ranks as the quickest stoppage in the history of the UFC featherweight division.

22: Organizations for which Smith has plied his mixed martial arts trade. “Lionheart” has suited up for the UFC, Bellator MMA, Strikeforce, Cage Fury Fighting Championships, the Resurrection Fighting Alliance, Victory Fighting Championship, Extreme Beatdown, Disorderly Conduct, Cornhusker Fight Club, C3 Fights, Extreme Challenge, Crowbar MMA, Seconds Out, Max Fights, TriState Cage Fights, Xtreme Combat League, Fight Club Inc., Fight to Win, Minnesota Combat Sports, Brutaal Fight Night, Torment MMA and Pugilistic Productions.

5: Men other than Spann who have held the Legacy Fighting Alliance light heavyweight championship. Julius Anglickas, Alex Polizzi, Fabio Cherant, Joshua Silveira and Bruno Lopes complete the list.

7: Alex Caceres wins by submission, accounting for 33% of his career total (21). His methods of choice: four rear-naked chokes, two triangle chokes and one armbar. “The Ultimate Fighter” Season 12 semifinalist faces Giga Chikadze in a three-round featherweight showcase.

9: Chikadze victories by knockout or technical knockout, accounting for 64% of his career total (14). The Kings MMA rep has victimized Edson Barboza, Cub Swanson and Jamey Simmons since he joined the UFC roster in September 2019.

50,000: Post-fight dollars banked by Rinya Nakamura in his promotional debut at UFC Fight Night 218 on Feb. 4. He was awarded a “Performance of the Night” bonus after he knocked out Toshiomi Kazama a mere 33 seconds into their Road to UFC final. Nakamura puts his perfect 7-0 record in the line against Fernie Garcia in a three-round bantamweight feature.

32: Rounds completed by Garcia as a professional mixed martial artist. He has gone the distance on nine different occasions and carries a 6-3 record in those bouts.

136: Significant strikes by which Erin Blanchfield has outlanded the opposition across her five outings in the UFC. She has connected on 290 such strikes while absorbing 154 in return. Blanchfield collides with Taila Santos in a pivotal women’s flyweight attraction.

15: Takedowns executed by Santos as a UFC women’s flyweight, tying her with Montana De La Rosa for sixth on the promotion’s all-time list at 125 pounds. Only Valentina Shevchenko (35), Gillian Robertson (21), Andrea Lee (19), Roxanne Modafferi (16) and Miranda Maverick (16) have been credited with more.

38: Years of age for Parker Porter. The oldest fighter on the card, he was born on April 22, 1985 in Hartford, Connecticut. Parker collides with Junior Tafa in a three-round heavyweight appetizer.

66: Seconds needed for Tafa to bury Taisei Sekino with punches in his pro debut under the Beatdown Promotions banner on July 9, 2022. More than a year later, it remains the fastest finish on his resume.

23: Years of age for Yusaku Kinoshita. The youngest fighter on the card, he was born in Osaka, Japan, on Aug. 21, 2000. Kinoshita meets Billy Goff in an undercard clash at 170 pounds.

.739: Cumulative winning percentage between the 26 fighters slated to compete at the event. They sport a combined record of 372-131-2. Smith has the most wins (36) and losses (18) of anyone on the card.
