Matches to Make After UFC Fight Night 241

The Ultimate Fighting Championship returned to the UFC Apex for a card featuring quite a few familiar names. The UFC Fight Night 241 main event saw featherweights Edson Barboza and Lerone Murphy clash for five rounds. Following Murphy’s hand being raised; fans are left wondering what’s next for fighters up and down the card.

Here are five matches to make following UFC Fight Night 241.

Lerone Murphy vs. Josh Emmett

Murphy (14-0-1) stayed undefeated as a professional mixed martial artist in his first UFC main event. The talented British fighter was able to pressure the Brazilian and win a clear decision. Now “The Miracle” is ready for a fight against a dangerous contender up the UFC rankings, and Emmett, who recently destroyed Bryce Mitchell, fits the bill perfectly. At 39, Emmett (19-4) has fought many of the division’s best and Murphy would be in prime position if he can get past “CC0.”

Kalinn Williams vs. Michael Morales

A fan-favorite for some quick KOs early in his UFC run, Williams has now won two straight fights after besting Carlston Harris. “Khaos” delivered a brutal right hand to score a knockout and now sits at 15-3 as a professional. The 30-year-old would serve as a good test against Morales, who is 16-0 and only 24. Morales is 4-0 inside the Octagon and has quickly become one to watch after picking up decision wins over Jake Matthews and Max Griffin. Getting past Williams would show that he can withstand heavy punches.

Themba Gorimbo vs. Trey Waters

Gorimbo extended his win streak to three by winning a decision over Ramiz Brahimaj. While it wasn’t exactly thrilling, “The Answer” is having a strong 2024 having previously knocked out Pete Rodriguez in just 32 seconds. Gorimbo (13-4) is now looking to rise up the rankings and the streaking Waters would make for a fun fight. “The Truth” is 2-0 inside the Octagon after picking up wins over Billy Goff and Joshua Quinlan. The winner would be in a good spot and ready for more marquee bouts in the future.

Adrian Yanez vs. Chris Gutierrez

Yanez successfully bounced back after TKO losses to Jonathan Martinez and Rob Font by beating Vinicius Salvador with an onslaught of punches. The 30-year-old had been 5-0 in the UFC prior to the defeats and looks to have learned from those setbacks. A fight against Gutierrez would make sense for both men as “El Guapo” is a more experienced bantamweight, who is looking for a bounce back fight after losing a decision to Yadong Song. Both men are exciting on the feet, and it’d be a good addition to any Fight Night’s main card.

Angela Hill vs. Tabatha Ricci

Hill showed that she’s still a savvy UFC veteran that can win fights against younger fighters by tapping Luana Pinheiro with a slick guillotine choke. Now 17-13, “Overkill” has won four out of her last five outings. While Hill has struggled against the top of the division, she’s an extraordinary test for most fighters and would make for a stellar test for Ricci, who won a split decision last week over Tecia Pennington. If “Baby Shark” can get past the 39-year-old, then she’ll be ready for even bigger fights afterward.
