PXC-39 DELIVERS!

(PRESS RELEASE) -- PXC-39 lived up to the hype and solidly entrenched PXC as the premier MMA organization in the Philippines and the rest of the Asia Pacific with a sold-out night of highly entertaining bouts capped by an epic featherweight championship battle at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City last September 14.

The biggest roar of the night belonged to South Korea’s Jang Yong Kim, appropriately called “The Beast,” who grabbed the PXC Featherweight Belt with a demolition and submission of the crowd-favorite from the Philippines, Mark Striegl.

The Title bout exploded in the first round with strong exchanges and takedowns leading to world-class grappling and submission attempts on the ground. Twice Jang managed to trap Striegl in Kimura locks, but Mugen was able to rip free and answer back with a rear naked choke attempt that he couldn't finish as well. As the round came to a close, both fighters stood breathing heavy and staring at each other after an intense 1st round scrap.

Throughout the second round, it was clear that Kim had more gas in the tank, as he continued his submission attempts and significant ground and pound. In the third round, there was no escaping Jang’s patented "Beast" choke as Striegl did not have the energy nor the strength to withstand the onslaught, and was forced to tap out with Jang's legs locked around his neck.

PXC 39’ s supporting bouts were just as thrilling. The co-main event between Hawaiian Louis Smolka and Filipino Jessie Rafols ended just as quickly as it began in the first round with Smolka dishing a more effective rear naked choke. Smolka is now preparing for his Flyweight title bout with reigning champ Ale Cali of the Philippines on November 9th.

Former title contender Isaiah Ordiz was no match against Glenn Ranillo and his excellent counter punches, losing via unanimous decision.

Sweden’s Zebastian Kadestam continued his winning streak at the expense of veteran Ross Ebanez, delivering a devastating head kick in the first round for a TKO win.

Filipino boxing champion Rolando Navarette’s son, Rolando Dy, blazed his own trail with an entertaining decision win over Guam’s Kyle Reyes, giving Reyes the first loss of his career.

Three other matches did not need the judges’ decision. Roldan Sangcha’an submitted Ernesto Montilla Jr. via rear naked choke in the second round. Jinel Lausa proved too much for Adam Cacay that the referee had to stop the fight midway in the third round...and young Team Lakay fighter, Harold Banario, recorded a first round arm bar submission to fellow PXC newcomer Adamson Torbiso.

PXC-39 recorded almost 20,000 viewers online internationally in addition to hundreds of thousands on television in the Philippines. Pacific X-treme Combat plans to continue their steady and aggressive growth in Asia and throughout the Pacific with 2 more events scheduled for 2013. October 25th in Guam and November 9th back in Manila, Philippines, and both events will stream online for international audiences as well as broadcast locally by the top sports networks in Guam and the Philippines.
