SID VICIOUS MAKES BROADCAST DEBUT AT RFA 16

(PRESS RELEASE) -- RFA 16 (Resurrection Fighting Alliance) kicks off the televised main card with an amazing bout featuring two undefeated flyweights. Sid Bice (3-0) locks horns with Eric Shelton (5-0) at the 1ST Bank Center in Broomfield, Co., live on AXS TV.

The infamous rock band, The Sex Pistols, had their own Sid Vicious... And now MMA has one as well: Sid "Vicious" Bice. Fighting out of Denver, by way of Winner, South Dakota, "Vicious" has carried the nickname since high school, "I was pretty much the smallest guy on the wrestling team but always kicking everyone's ass, so they called me 'Sid Vicious' and it stuck through college and even now at Factory X they call me Vicious too."

A Division II wrestler out of Augustana College in Sioux Falls, Sd., "Vicious" moved to Denver at the age of 23 and joined the elite fighters of Factory X Muay Thai. Their mantra: "As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another" and Bice is surely being sharpened by training alongside fighters like legend Joe Warren and led by head coach, Marc Montoya.

And now 25 years old, Bice added, "Since my family is back in South Dakota, Factory X adopted me and they're my family now too. I train with some of the best guys in the world. I train six days a week, every week and get one week off after a fight otherwise I'm in the gym. The camps are a little bit tough because you have an opponent in the back of your mind, so I'm pushing harder. I always work hard and ready for anyone. And this is gonna be another day in the office against Eric Shelton."

And Bice's thoughts on his versatile opponent? "Shelton's a really technical fighter. Which is better for me. I'm a technical fighter too. It's almost easier to fight a technical fighter than it is to fight a guy that does crazy wild stuff. I think that I'm better than Shelton in every part of the game. I'm gonna be throwing a lot of kicks, elbows, knees and you'll see my takedowns. Hopefully, I'll have something in store that'll shock everyone. I'm gonna whoop his ass."

Keeping his sights on his upcoming fight, "Vicious" also realizes what this bout means for his future, "I would love to see where the RFA can take me. They have shows all over the United States. They're all televised. I'd love to create a fan base and hopefully fight for their belt. Matt Manzanares is the current RFA bantamweight champ and I'd love to fight him."

He added, "RFA has a lot of belt holders that go into the UFC. I'd like to be 8 or 9-0 before I get into the UFC, so I have a little more experience. I hope within 5 more fights with RFA, I can get a contract and fight on the big show UFC. I want to be the best 125-er in the world. That's my end goal. I feel like I'm on that level already, I just need that chance."

When asked who his dream fight would be, "Vicious" had a refreshing answer, "Of course, I would love to fight Demetrious Johnson current UFC flyweight champ and that will happen some day but my dream fight would definitely be Urijah Faber. I watched him growing up and wanted to fight like him. It would be awesome to fight him. It would be an honor."

And Sid Bice's aspirations to fight current champions and living legends start with his rising opponent Eric Shelton at RFA 16 on Friday, July 25TH.

RFA 16 - Copeland vs. Jorgensen will be televised live on AXS TV starting at 10:00 p.m. ET / 7:00 p.m. PT on Friday, July 25th.
