Bellator 288's Lucas Brennan Says He Has Found His Place at Featherweight

After some consideration, Lucas Brennan feels at home in the 145-pound division and doesn’t plan on changing weight classes anytime soon.

Brennan (7-0, 7-0 Bellator) is currently ranked 10th in the Bellator MMA featherweight division, a position he earned after seven promotional victories, six of which were finishes. In an interview with Sherdog last year, “Skywalker” teased that he was considering moving up to 155, considering that he’s still very young and his body is changing. However, it appears the 22-year-old has changed his mind. For now, he’s staying at featherweight, looking for his next victory as he faces Nick Talavera at Bellator 288.

“I've really found my place for 145, more than anything. I think at the time I had missed weight fighting Andrew Salas, who was my fourth professional fight. The quarantine and the hotel just killed the weight cut, like four people missed weight. Making weight for that camp was still kind of difficult. From that point to now, these last three fights, I've had the best weight cuts I've ever had and really the best diets. I've found that if I did wanna move up, I'd have to grow so much more than I'm going to. I'm happy at [145]. While making weight sucks, that's just kind of part of the game. I'm cool with being [145].”
